Screaming Eagles LHG Charity March 2012
We will be taking part in the screaming eagles LHG's charity march again this year for the third year this year. See the poster below for more details.
Korean war charity event
We recently were invloved in a korean war charity event to help raise money to fund a trip for korean war vetrens to korea. Although we dont collect korean war militaria alot of the stuff used in ww2 was also used in korean particulary anything made after mid 1944. So we went and put on a good display for them and our other two firends did there displays one consisting of 12" figures and the other of actual korean war artifacts and weapons. It was a good day and raised around £400 for the charity much more than expected. Thanks for everyone who helped and went along and made it a realy good day. Along with the displays inside there was also a nice collection of vehicals and a small group of renactors outside. including our own jeep pictured at the far end of all the vehicals.
Our display of weapons and original korean war uniforms ect
Bastogne Historic Walk 2011
This year Ben and Tim Perry will be going on the annual bastogne historic walk. We have been told that it is a great experiance with plenty of renactors and renactments. We will be leaving with our 2 friends on the 9th of december and driving for a couple of hours where we will get the ferry over to france. Then we have a rufly 4 hour drive ahead of us to get to where we will be staying for the next 2 days. We will be sleeping in a sports hall on camp beds while other more daring renactors will even be sleeping out side in fox hole or so we have been told. We have packed our bags and are ready to go next weekend. If you are going we shall see you there!!
Above is all of our gear and sleeping stuff we will be taking.
Of course this isnt in bastogne but this will give you an idea of what me and dad will be wearing. My jacket i am wearing in the picture is a more modern m-65 jacket but it is very similar to the m-43 they would of worn at the time. Pictures of us there to come.
Charity march photos 2011
We have completed another charity march with the screaming eagles lhg and other groups. We had a realy enjoyable starting off the day with a role call and then a quick stand out in front of littlecote house (one of the buildings used as a billiting base for the 101st iN ww2). After that we set off. We stopped at a few places for a few minutes of historical importance before making our way up to ramsbury airdrome (now fields) the 506th made practice jumps here during the war. After a brief rest stop there we walked down to ramsbury where we would stop for 40 minutes in the town hall car park. We then continued on to aldbourne with a few stops on the way. We stopped at aldbourne for lunch before setting off once more back to littlecote. By now everyone was getting a little tired but we were fine after a good cup of tea and a doughnut. On the way back we stopped in ramsbury square for the final rest before the 1 and a half mile walk back to littlecote. This time there would be no stops. Upon our arrival to littlecote we were greeted by a few of the guests and formed up for pictures before taking a long earned rest and having a nice cup of tea and more doughnuts! Everyone did well on the march this year and we have raised lots of money for the poppy appeal. We would like to thank the screaming eagles lhg for letting us come on the march this year and we are hoping to go on it again next year. Thanks to all who took part.

Dig for victory 2011
in a few weeks we are off to dig for victory at lacock to do our first display. The show takes place on the 20th - 21st of august and is free entry to everyone. Our group will have a display there and we will have a sign with the logo on so you will know it is us. We are going to be sleeping over night in our pup tents on the display and we hope that everything will go well. We shall be taking only the jeep as our transport to and from the show so we are limited to what we take but above is a brief look at what our display should look like. Pictures of the display at the show below:

Movie star??
When having our display at the lacock show a man asked if my t-5 reserve chute was from the band of brothers. When i brought it i was told that it was from the band of brothers but there was no documentation to prove it. So i said to him i think it is. It turned out that the guy had made the parachutes for the movie and he thought that mine was one from the movie. Not bad for £60.
